Suggested annual dues are based on a sliding scale, from $3-15. You may pay less or more than the suggested amount, based on your ability to contribute.  You may also pay it forward, paying dues on the behalf of other S4TJ members (either specific members or a general donation).

Please submit your dues payment via CashApp ($S4TJASA). As you prepare to pay dues, we also ask that you complete this Dues Collection Form for our records.

Suggested Dues Amounts Breakdown (pay whatever amount you can):
Student/Contingent/Underemployed $3-5
Pre-tenured faculty and applied scholars $5-10
Tenured faculty $10-15

Suggested dues shall be set by those in attendance at the annual S4TJ business meeting; if no new dues structure is voted on, the last-decided dues structure shall remain in effect.

Regardless of your ability to pay dues, everyone is always welcome to join our email listserv, attend S4TJ events, and volunteer for S4TJ committees.

FAQs

What are dues?
Dues, broadly speaking, are an annual payment that is paid to the organization. Because we believe in making S4TJ resources and content accessible to all people regardless of their ability to pay dues, our dues are not tied to membership. Rather, we ask that you pay dues, if you are able, to help support the organization’s functions and to ensure that we keep resources available to everyone.

What are the dues used for?
Dues are an investment in the future. A majority of dues collected are used to assist in maintaining the day-to-day operations, including hosting the website and meeting-affiliated costs. As S4TJ’s account allows, S4TJ dues will also be used for supporting S4TJ members including awards.

How much are the dues?
There is no required amount people must pay in dues. Rather, pay what you can. We have suggested amounts from $3-15, though you are welcome to pay less or more.
You may also pay it forward, paying dues on the behalf of other S4TJ members (either specific members or a general donation).

When are dues due?
Dues are due on a rolling basis. We recommend paying your dues on an annual basis, by October 1 each year.

What about graduate students, contingent faculty, and applied scholars?
Dues are not mandatory. Regardless of your ability to pay dues, everyone is always welcome to to our email listserv, attend S4TJ events, and volunteer for S4TJ committees.

What types of payments are accepted?
We accept dues through our CashApp account. We do not presently accept cash, check, money order, or credit/debit cards. We also ask that when paying dues, that you complete this Dues Collection Form for our records.

What is CashApp? Is it Safe?
Cash App is a mobile payment service developed by Square, Inc., allowing users to transfer money to one another using a mobile phone app. You can connect the CashApp to your bank account or credit card (for a 3% fee) to transfer money to between users.

CashApp can be downloaded free of charge in the google play or apple store(s). Setting up an account is free.
